Has My Story Been Accepted?

For the first few hours days, I went to the website to check the status of my submission. Gradually I've weaned myself to only a couple of times a day. Everyone I talk with, says send out more stories!  So now I'm going through, seeing the ones that might be worth submitting and preparing them to send in.  Has anyone found a good short story cover letter?

I have never written a short cover letter but with a little bit of editing, perhaps you can resubmit the story you sent me.

Oh, by the way, I'm still working on it. It will hopefully be done soon.

Oh, and you also asked what a beta reader is. When you finish your manuscript and edit it, you send it out to a few readers for their opinions. It's close to a critiquer but most beta readers won't have the knowledge of what needs improving, they may just let you know what worked for them and what didn't. If you want to know what the public will think of the book, you send it to beta readers. Based on their remarks you know how to change the story. Also, they probably won't touch your grammar.
